Hi! I'm Cate. πŸ‘‹

As usual, it depends πŸ˜‰

Mornin, Reader!

Sooooo...did you see the photo I shared on IG stories of our dining room? It has been in this (or a similarly chaotic) state for oh....6+ months?

This room is not tucked in the back of our home, or down in the basement. In fact, it's front and center in our home, right between our foyer and our kitchen.

I share this to say: our homes are living, evolving pieces of our life. They serve so many functions for us as the seasons of our lives shift.

Simply recognizing this and giving yourself grace throughout these phases (however long or short they may be) can bring a big sense of relief.

I've been thinking and planning and dreaming (and saving!) for the next phase of this room for a while now, and we're at a point where we're moving forward with the improvements and changes. I'll be sure to keep you in the loop, Reader!

Now to your questions and my answers this week. Our topics include:

  • paint color for bathroom walls
  • how high and wide to hang curtain rods
  • woven shades (are they too beachy?)

BATHROOM PAINT SELECTION

My training in identifying undertones comes in clutch in these situations. It's all about making the correct selection based on what fixed elements are staying.

HANGING CURTAINS

There's a big range of what's "correct" when hanging rods. Here are the parameters I generally use.

WOVEN SHADES

There are so many "fabrics" available in woven shades these days. They definitely don't have to lean beachy!

LOVING LATELY

Have you been getting the targeted marketing for these new fangled "hands free" shoes? I have been flooded with the ads, so much so, that I kind of vowed not to buy them on principal.

But THEN, a good friend said they'd tried them for their kiddo and they were incredibly durable and so simple to get on and off (obvi). Since Della's shoes were literally falling apart, we decided to give these a go, and wouldn't you know...they've been so so good.

If you're looking for a hard working shoe that does all it claims (for yourself or your kiddos), give them a try. You can save $20 by using this link.

I'll leave you with the current state of our dining room. This week I've worked on clearing it out so the walls can be prepped for wallpaper πŸŽ‰!

What are you working on? Simply reply to this email with your questions or conundrums and I'll see how I can help.

Oh, and if you have feedback or suggestions regarding these emails, I'm all ears. Let me know if you're finding value here or if changing formatting (or something else) would be helpful.
